Maneuvers

Controlled Wheelies

Skill 1 of 2

Why it matters

Wheelies help clear holes, place the front tire on obstacles, and keep momentum over chaos. The rear brake is your safety net.

Principles

  • Use body preload and a small clutch pop to lift; keep throttle steady.
  • Tap the rear brake to control height; think “rise, tap, settle.”
  • Stay loose at the hips; steer with pegs, not arms.

How to train

Work on flat, high‑grip ground at low speed. Focus on consistent, repeatable small lifts before seeking longer holds.

Safety

Always cover the rear brake, and space attempts to protect the clutch.
