The 24MX GetzenRodeo is Germany's hard enduro classic: a compact, brutal course through the Getzenwald forest at Grießbach in the Ore Mountains, with the crowd right on top of the riders. It is not held every year; the last three editions were 2021, 2023 and 2025. The format is two races in one day: a two-hour GetzenRace, then an 80-minute GetzenChamp final for the best 20. It was the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship finale in 2021 and 2023, and Manuel Lettenbichler has won the last five editions. The next one is on 22–23 October 2027.

How the GetzenRodeo works
The GetzenRodeo is short, intense and built for spectators. Instead of one long day in the mountains, riders race laps of a compact forest course.
- Friday – Prolog: a timed run that sets the start order for Saturday. In 2025 it was a head-to-head format with 64 riders, won by Billy Bolt. In 2023 the fastest 16 went on to a "Red Bull Double Trouble" knockout.
- Saturday – GetzenRace: a two-hour race for up to 60 riders, started in rows. The best 20 go through.
- Saturday – GetzenChamp: the final, 80 minutes plus one lap, run in the opposite direction to the GetzenRace. Riders must ride a joker loop (the X-loop) once. The most laps in the shortest time wins.
The course runs through the Getzenwald, a steep forest above Grießbach, with extreme climbs and descents, roots and rocks, and spectators close to the track. The sections have kitchen names: the Kartoffelreibe (potato grater), the Gewürzregal (spice rack), the Zwiebelschale (onion skin) and the Speckschwarte (bacon rind) at the finish.
The format has changed over the years. In 2016 the final was the best 12 over five laps, started two riders every 10 seconds. In 2018 it was six laps, with an extra section ridden once by the top five.
The event is run by a small club, GetzenRodeo e.V. In 2016 it had 17 members.
Getting to the Getzenwald and watching the race
The venue is in Grießbach, part of Drebach (09430 Drebach), in Saxony's Ore Mountains. It is about 25 km north of the Czech border and 4 km from Zschopau.
- By car: take the B174 from Chemnitz and leave at Zschopau-Süd, toward Wolkenstein.
- By train: the Erzgebirgsbahn to Scharfenstein station. The organizer puts it about a 10-minute walk from the paddock.
- Paddock: in 2025 it was on the Grießbach sports field.
- Camping: the organizer links a camping village for race weekend.
Tickets: in 2025 a ticket cost €35 plus fees online, or on the gate. Friday was free, and children up to 14 got in free. In 2023 tickets were €30 in advance and €40 on race day.
Crowds: the organizer reported more than 10,000 fans in 2016, 2023 and 2025, and 12,000 in 2018. In 2021, with COVID limits, the crowd was 5,000.
Online: the 2023 finale was shown live on Red Bull TV, in English and German. Official results for every edition are on the organizer's results page.
GetzenRodeo history
The first GetzenRodeo ran in 2006, and Ralf Scheidhauer won it and the next one in 2007. After a long break it returned in 2011, when Marcus Kehr won.
Graham Jarvis arrived in 2012 and won three editions in a row: 2012, 2014 and 2016. In 2014 Jonny Walker was second and Andreas Lettenbichler third. His son Manuel finished tenth.
Manuel Lettenbichler has won every edition since. He beat Alfredo Gómez and Taddy Błażusiak in 2018 and 2019, and Billy Bolt in 2021 and 2023. His fourth win, in 2023, made him the most successful rider in the event's history.
The GetzenRodeo became a championship venue in 2019, when it hosted the WESS final. It closed the first FIM Hard Enduro World Championship in 2021 and the 2023 season. In 2025 it was the penultimate round, and Lettenbichler sealed his title there.
- Most wins: Manuel Lettenbichler, 5.
- Longest winning run: Lettenbichler, five in a row (2018–2025).
- Best without a win: Mario Román, four podiums (third in 2016, 2021 and 2023, second in 2025).
