Controlled Front‑End Lifts

Skill 6 of 6

Why it matters

Front wheel placement is essential for logs, steps, and holes. Lifting the front on command is more about timing and posture than power.

Principles

  • Preload the suspension, then add a coordinated clutch pop and small throttle increase.
  • Keep your chest over the bars and eyes up; cover the rear brake.

How to train

Start on flat ground with tiny lifts. Progress to very small obstacles and slow speeds. Emphasize smooth set‑downs.

Safety

Always cover the rear brake and give the clutch time to cool between attempts.
