Splatters

Skill 5 of 5

Why it matters

A splatter lets you climb short, vertical faces by using suspension preload and rear‑tire drive. It’s an advanced blend of timing, posture, and commitment.

Principles

  • Approach slowly; preload the fork; lift the front to the face; drive the rear tire up with clutch and hips.
  • Cover the rear brake to manage pitch.

How to train

Start with very low, safe faces and build height gradually. Only add this once your front‑end lifts and logs are effortless.

Safety

Consequences rise quickly with height. Keep sessions short and controlled.
