Rider overview
The Desmo450 EDS is the road-legal enduro version of Ducati's Desmo450 MX. Ducati's US page calls it "the first modern Ducati street-legal enduro bike". It uses the same 449.6 cc desmodromic single and the same aluminium frame.
The engine is tuned down for the road. Ducati quotes 42 hp at 6,750 rpm and 45 Nm at 5,750 rpm. The MX makes 63.5 hp. The EDS has a 42 mm throttle body instead of 44 mm, a 12.9:1 compression ratio instead of 13.5:1, and a catalytic converter with a lambda sensor. It has six gears instead of five, with a quickshifter for upshifts.
The road kit adds weight. Ducati lists 119.9 kg wet without fuel, 15.1 kg more than the MX. It carries an 8.5 litre tank, LED lights, an LCD dash and a cooling fan.
Desmo450 EDX: the race version
The EDX is Ducati's enduro-cross bike for cross-country and enduro racing. Ducati says it is "based on the Desmo450 MX". It keeps the MX engine output: 63.5 hp at 9,400 rpm and 53.5 Nm at 7,500 rpm. It has five gears with an up-only quickshifter.
The enduro parts are an 8.5 litre tank, an 18-inch rear wheel with a Pirelli Scorpion XC Mid Soft tyre, handguards, a skid plate and a side stand. Ducati fits enduro-specific fork springs and damping. Its spec sheet lists no lights.
Ducati lists 107.1 kg wet without fuel and a 970 mm seat. The US list price is $12,495 plus $795 destination. Ducati announced it on 3 October 2025.
Service intervals and warranty
Ducati sets the EDS service schedule in kilometres: oil and filter every 2,500 km, valve check every 5,000 km, main engine service every 11,500 km. The warranty is 6 months or 40 hours of use.
The EDX schedule is in hours: oil and filter every 15 hours, piston and valve check every 45 to 60 hours, main engine service every 90 to 120 hours. Its warranty is 3 months or 20 hours.
